James Bartholomew’s aim in his work is to convey to the viewer the mood of the scene, portraying the weather, the light, the movement and energy that he sees. Looking at his wonderful dynamic seascapes, you can see that he has achieved his aim in spades.
As a child I spent a lot of time at Porth Chapel. My Uncle lived at St Just and we spent every summer there. The beach was not on the tourist path at the time- the locals liked it though. This has given me a little bit of Cornwall for my home in Cardiff !
