The last 21 years have been wonderful, see where it all began...

Whilst still in the Royal Navy, Lyn Thompson, love of all things arty attended her first ever craft fair at Tregenna Castle Hotel in St Ives selling her hand painted cards.Lyn attended various craft fairs including the Royal Cornwall Show.Lyn left the Royal Navy to have her first baby, a boy, named Will. Followed later in 1994 by her second baby, this time, a girl named Cathrine.Lyn's cards were a hit at craft fairs far and wide, she applied for a Prince's Trust loan - Milkwood Publishing was born!Lyn's best friend Sue popped round for a cup of tea and soon found herself joining the company (she's still with us today).The first Whistlefish Gallery opens in St Ives! Celebratory beers followed at The Sloup. On the way to the Top Draw trade show the Milkwood team divert to Buckingham Palace to pay their respects upon hearing the tragic news of Princess Diana.The team moved into an office unit in Helston which had no running water.. the only way was up?Whistlefish had their first stand at both RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Palace -they went on to win awards for outstanding stand presentation.Over the past ten years locals and holiday makers alike have loved Whistlefish and so another seven shops popped up across Cornwall and Devon.The Whistlefish team grew and grew, with a total of ten Whistlefish Galleries and a brand spanking new website www.whistlefish.comA Head Office, warehouse and workshop were purposely built for the ever growing team.Gifts and stationery join the lovely greeting cards and art prints Whistlefish offer. They go down a treat!Milkwood Publishing officially rebranded as Whistlefish!Whistlefish celebrate their 21st birthday! With over 60 independent artists working with Whistlefish, the future is an arty one, with the best yet to come!
